AT+CMGF=1 does not set text mode, what to do?

My project is read SMS from a gsm mobile phone through COM port. I'm using AT commands. The problen is I am declaring AT+CMGF=1, but the message doesn't comes out in text format, i'm not sure but it may be coming in PDU format.
